Process Engineer/CCR Operator

Job Description

Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a vigilant Process Engineer/CCR Operator to oversee and manage various stages of the cement production line from the Central Control Room (CCR). This role ensures operational precision, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with environmental regulations, providing essential guidance to on-site personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Processing Engineering or a closely related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili
• Solid understanding of the cement production process
• Proficiency in product quality parameters and quality control principles
• Strong grasp of crushing operations, equipment, and their functionalities
• Aptitude for problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Effective interpersonal and relationship management abilities
• Demonstrated supervisory skills
• Exceptional attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control all segments of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR)
• Ensure precise operations and strict adherence to production standards
• Provide vital information and operational guidance to patrollers and operators in coordination with shift management
• Log process data at specified intervals, documenting and reporting all operational activities
• Facilitate seamless operation of the crusher, raw mills, kiln, and cement mills through continuous feedback and guidance
• Alert field staff to equipment failures, potential issues, or problem areas, and direct troubleshooting efforts
• Diagnose and resolve operational problems, consulting with shift coordinators/engineers or acting independently when immediate action is needed
• Regularly assess and recommend improvements for the plant's automation system based on best practices
• Generate comprehensive and clear reports on all undertaken work
• Oversee casual staff to ensure all conveyor belts are clean and free from jamming
• Strive to achieve cement and clinker production targets during assigned shifts
• Undertake any other duties as directed by the section Head / HOD
