Job Description

The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT), a public gaming regulatory institution, is seeking an Accountant II. This role involves ensuring proper recording and filing of invoices, maintaining petty cash journals, preparing accounting schedules, and managing staff loans and imprests. The Accountant II will also be responsible for preparing bank reconciliation statements and supporting overall financial operations.

Requirements

  • Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields: Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (majoring in Accountancy or Finance) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
  • Must have CPA (T) or equivalent professional qualifications recognized by NBAA
  • Tanzanian citizen

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all invoices are properly recorded and filed after payments
  • Record primary data in the respective journals
  • Maintain Petty Cash Journals
  • Prepare accounting schedules as directed by supervisor
  • Manage staff loans and imprests
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor(s)
