Job Description
The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT), a public gaming regulatory institution, is seeking a Communication Officer I. This role involves preparing and coordinating corporate public participation forums, ensuring clear messages, creating audio-visual content, and managing GBT's internal and external communications. The officer will also be responsible for updating the GBT website, managing social media, and developing innovative communication strategies.
Requirements
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, International Relations, Business Communication, or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions
- Working experience of at least four (4) years in related field
- Tanzanian citizen
Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate corporate public participation forums
- Ensure messages are clear and well-structured
- Take photos and videos for audio-visual content
- Coordinate GBT internal communication
- Assist in updating the GBT website
- Assist in coordination of corporate internal and external meetings, events, and protocol services
- Assist in coordination and execution of GBT Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives
- Maintain GBT social media accounts and manage its presence on social media platforms to ensure active engagement with the audience
- Create and develop innovative ways to communicate GBT messages
- Monitor and evaluate GBT communication activities to ascertain their effectiveness
- Manage the GBT’s response to media, publicity, and during crises, ensuring accuracy and prompt communication
- Develop internal communication programs and public relations
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor(s)
