Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL), Tanzania’s leading sugar producer, is seeking an Estate Agriculture Director. This role is crucial for managing agricultural operations within a sprawling 26,000-hectare crop estate, contributing to the annual production of 126,000 tons of sugar and supporting 8,000 grower farmers. Requirements

• Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in large-scale plantation management, preferably in sugar cane or similar crops
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
• Knowledge of modern agricultural practices, irrigation systems, and sustainable farming methods
• Ability to drive operational efficiency and productivity

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all agricultural operations across the estate, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and irrigation
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize crop yield and quality
• Manage the agricultural budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation
• Lead, mentor, and develop agricultural teams
• Implement and monitor sustainable farming practices and environmental compliance
• Collaborate closely with mill operations to ensure efficient sugar production
• Monitor market trends and adopt innovative agricultural technologies
