Payment Specialist / Junior Accountant

Job Description

Mogo Credit Tanzania, a new venture by Eleving Group, a leading international fintech company operating in over 15 countries, is seeking a Payment Specialist / Junior Accountant to join its founding team in Dar es Salaam. The Payment Specialist / Junior Accountant will manage financial transactions, ensure payment accuracy, and support internal controls, contributing to Mogo’s mission of increasing financial access and social mobility through innovative products like car, motorcycle, tuk-tuk, and smartphone financing, as well as logbook loans.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or any other relevant business-related field
• At least 1 year of relevant experience as an accounts assistant or related position
• Extreme attention to detail
• Fluency in English and Swahili (both written and verbal)
• Excellent analytical and collaborative skills
• High levels of loyalty and integrity

Responsibilities

• Upload bank and MNO statements
• Handle fiscal receipts for TRA daily print and storage
• Manage petty cash payouts
• Disburse payments to clients and suppliers in a timely manner, ensuring payment accuracy
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
• Assist in collecting balances for accounts where the company stores balances and upload them accordingly
• Carry out any other business-related tasks as required from time to time or assigned by the supervisor
