Job Description

Mogo Credit Tanzania, a new venture by Eleving Group, a leading international fintech company operating in over 15 countries, is seeking a Sales Manager to join its founding team in Dar es Salaam. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a company from the ground up in a collaborative, non-bureaucratic, and sustainable work environment. The Sales Manager will lead branch operations, drive loan portfolio growth, and ensure excellent customer service while promoting financial access and social mobility through innovative products like car, motorcycle, tuk-tuk, and smartphone financing, as well as logbook loans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Sales & Marketing, or a related field
• Master’s degree or professional certification (advantageous)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services, microfinance, banking, or asset financing
• At least 2 years in a leadership or branch management role
• Proven track record in meeting sales targets, managing loan portfolios, and improving collection efficiency
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive performance
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound business decisions under pressure
• High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with loan management systems
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate the branch team (Loan Officers, DC Field Agents, and support staff) to achieve set sales, portfolio quality, and customer service targets
• Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the loan portfolio while maintaining healthy repayment rates
• Monitor loan disbursement, portfolio performance, and collection efficiency; take corrective action when necessary
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training needs for staff to enhance productivity
• Ensure early intervention on high-risk accounts through courtesy visits and proactive follow-up
• Build strong community and customer relationships to promote brand visibility and generate business opportunities
• Analyze branch performance reports and present findings with recommendations to the Regional Manager
• Safeguard company assets at the branch, including cash, equipment, and client files, by enforcing strict control measures
