Stock/Inventory Accountant

Job Description

Mogo Credit Tanzania, part of Eleving Group, a leading international fintech company operating in over 15 countries, is seeking a Stock/Inventory Accountant. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, reconciling stock counts, monitoring transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (Tanzania) is an added advantage
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inventory accounting or related field
• Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and accounting standards
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Integrity and commitment to upholding company policies and ethical standards

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records in line with Mogo Credit Tanzania’s accounting and reporting standards
• Reconcile physical stock counts with system records and investigate any variances
• Monitor and record all inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and disposals
• Prepare regular inventory and stock valuation reports for management
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls on inventory management
• Support month-end and year-end inventory closing activities
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Assist in both internal and external stock audits by providing required documentation
• Recommend process improvements to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs
